Halo Beanie Campaign: Protecting Young Lives
The Halo Beanie campaign, championed by Wheel Well and the Rotary Club of Sandton Central, is a key child road safety initiative where Peggie Mars, a member of this club, is deeply involved. This initiative provides specially designed beanies, embedded with reflective material, ensuring children remain visible to drivers in low-light conditions. To date, over 4,000 Halo Beanies have been distributed to children in vulnerable communities, significantly reducing the risk of road accidents.
The campaign is a community-driven effort, with Halo Beanie packs sponsored by generous donors. These packs are then lovingly knitted by local groups for the children in their own communities, creating a strong bond of care and protection.
